A special anniversary today and one I am going to (in my Pollyanna way) think about the positives that came out of that terrible day.....50 years ago today my dad made two crucial decisions.....one sadly took his life (and theirs) when he got persuaded to still go out in his boat with his mate and his mates teenage son despite his concerns about the weather....the other saved me and my brother who was also possibly going when he decided it would be just him who took that fateful boat journey out from the river Stour to Pegwell. So thank you from the bottom of my heart Stuart John Batts Harrison for the fifty years of life I have had since then.....hope I have made you proud!!
