Reference Number #929-York Notes - Interesting to note that throughout their marriage they were known as Henry & Sarah STEVENS and not CARTER???? I thought this a mistake at first with his occupation....Henry was a 'carter' as well as a blacksmith, but it appears he took on the name STEVENS for other reasons.

He apparently owned quite a lot of land....?
