      South Africa 1899-1902
      This South African War fought between the British and the Boer States of the Transvaal and the Orange Free State saw many men from all the Australian states serving initially in State formed units and after Federation in Australian Commonwealth units.

      The war in South Africa also saw the first Australian nurses to go overseas; a small contingent from New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia served in South Africa and received the Medal without clasps.
